Garth Getchell had always been a man of modest beginnings. In 2005, while painting his house for the market, he was pulled into an intriguing conversation with seasoned painting contractor Pat McCauley. Garth couldn’t deny that there was just something about the rough prototype of this unique new tool that sparked his interest.
After trying it out himself and seeing how easy it made things go faster, Garth found himself asking to buy one for his own use on jobsites before they were even ready to be sold on retail shelves. Word got around among other contractors in the area who also wanted in on these handy dandy tools, but Mr. McCauley wasn’t quite ready yet; he needed more time to develop them properly
Garth Getchell was a veteran of 25 years in commercial contracting, with his own 30 member painting crew. He immediately recognized the potential for this creative device and acquired the company to see if he could make it work. After an exhaustive research and development period, he had come up with two patented flexible extension arm tools- The Brush Flex (with three interchangeable heads) that is easy enough for any painter to use on handrail or other difficult surfaces; Mini Roller Flex that allows painters access without bending over! For years Garth worked hard to make McCauley Tools into a solid reliable company who put their needs as professional painters first and foremost!
A simple concept. An elegant solution. Beautiful tools.
